Jake Mercer is nineteen years old, and his biggest concern is making it through another ordinary summer in a small Montana town. Then the power goes out. The phones die. The internet disappears. Military aircraft fill the sky.

Jake and his older sister, Emma, escape into the mountains with a handful of survivors. They have little food, almost no weapons, and no idea who they can trust. But hiding won't keep them alive.

When they discover evidence of a secret resistance network operating across the country, Jake is forced to make a choice: keep running—or fight for the country that is disappearing behind him. What begins as a desperate attempt to survive becomes something far greater.
